I’m so excited to be joining the Index School District as a Science Teacher at Index Elementary this year!
I’ve worked with children for over a decade, from preschool through 12th grade, in many different educational settings and roles. Along my journey I’ve had the opportunity to work in both public and private school environments, including a Montessori school. My experience in Montessori was a particularly meaningful part of my journey as an educator and shaped how I see and support children.
I’m excited to bring that philosophy into my role as a science teacher, working with students both in the classroom and outdoors. I love creating hands-on experiences that encourage students to wonder, ask questions, get creative, and discover science in fun and meaningful ways. Art is also a big part of who I am. I look forward to integrating creativity and the arts into our science experiences whenever I can.
Outside of school, I love hiking, swimming, gardening, creating art, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with my family. I’ve been part of the local community for over 20 years, and I’m excited to give back to the community I call home.
